Tsukasa Taiko had a busy January, with numerous performances beginning with Mitsuwa’s mochi-tsuki on New Year’s Day, as well as numerous school visits for part of our educational program.
We ended January today with two shows at Oak Park & River Forest High School’s Japan Fest. We have a few alumni from OPRF at Gintenkai and one is a sophomore there as well. Our younger students also left Japanese school early just to come perform! We had a great two sets. Next year we are planning to have another evening performance with our advanced members like last year so we hope to see you there!
In the evening we also were invited to play at the Chinese New Year Party hosted by the Taiwanese American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Chicago.
Our next performance will be in collaboration with the Chicago Composers Orchestra. Look out for updates.
